Arts Digital: Aims

Arts Digital's aims are to:

  • Be a centre of excellence in the web and digital media.
  • Enable the Faculty to be a leader in the use of technology in the Humanities and Social Sciences, and in the research and teaching community generally.
  • Enable innovation and excellence in service delivery in the five main Faculty technology-based service areas: research, learning and teaching, the student experience, administration, and marketing.
  • Enable excellence and innovation in the ways in which students and staff experience research, teaching, and student life
  • Enable excellence and innovation in the Faculty web presence and use of the web.
  • Enable excellence and innovation in research, and research tools and resources.
  • Enable outreach and collaboration in student, alumni, academic, educational, civic, government, and industry communities and sectors.
  • Enable project-based research and development.

Core Activities to Achieve Aims

  • Strategic research, development and delivery of new digital, media, communications, educational and research technologies and services.
  • Research and development collaboration between staff, academics, and researchers.
  • The Arts Quality Assurance Program (QAP).
  • Project management and technology consultancy.
  • New technology seminars and training, internships, academic and student project development and management, community outreach projects, and interdisciplinary, intra- and inter-Faculty and inter-University collaboration.
  • A commitment to ongoing improvement in service delivery and the professional development of staff.
