1-2 October 2004, University of Sydney

Call for Papers

The conference will celebrate in particular the 20th anniversary of NSW Anti-Discrimination legislation - as well as more than 10 years of existence of the ACLGR and more than 25 years of the Australian Gay and Lesbian Archives. Papers focusing on any aspect of gay and lesbian history are invited, but those focusing on legislative issues and on the history and state of research are particularly welcome this year.

The dates have been chosen specifically not only to correspond with the AVCC Common Week but also to enable those wishing to do so to attend the Mardi Gras Sleaze Ball on Saturday 2 October (NSW Labour Day Weekend).

Abstracts of up to 150 words for papers of 20 minutes should be sent to both Bronwyn Winter of ACLGR bronwyn.winter@arts.usyd.edu.au Graham Willett of AGLA g.willett@arts.unimelb.edu.au by Friday 30th July 2004. Please send abstracts as rtf attachments. You should indicate clearly:

  • your name, contact details and (where relevant) institutional affiliation.
  • whether you require OHP or video; powerpoint may be possible but we cannot guarantee it - please confer with us if you wish to do a powerpoint presentation.
