Leticia Anderson
Leticia Anderson is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Sydney. Her thesis, Religion and multiculturalism in Australia: the Islamic dimension, explores the intersection between nationalism, secularism, globalisation and multiculturalism in the formation of attitudes towards Australian Muslims, and the consequences of these attitudes for Australian community relations.
During her undergraduate studies at the University of Sydney, Leticia undertook an interdisciplinary program of studies, majoring in psychology and medieval studies. She received a number of prestigious accolades for her undergraduate work, most notably the University Medal for her honours thesis, Subjected Muslims of the Latin Mediterranean, 1060-1300, and was awarded her Bachelor of Arts (Hons I) in 2005.
Prior to commencing her doctorate in 2007, Leticia worked in Indigenous affairs, most recently serving as Executive Officer for the NSW Reconciliation Council.
