Michael Otterman is a Visiting Scholar at the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Sydney. He is the author of American Torture: From the Cold War to Abu Ghraib and Beyond (Melbourne University Publishing, 2007) and the forthcoming title, Collateral Carnage: The Human Cost of the War in Iraq, with Dr Richard Hil and Dr Paul Wilson.
As a freelance journalist, he has covered crime and culture for an array of publications including New Matilda, Crikey!, and Melbourne's Is Not magazine. His website is www.americantorture.com.
