Award Conditions
- Students in receipt of these awards must:
a) Complete Progress Reports for the benefit of future Sydney exchange students.
b) Make themselves available as ambassadors to promote the exchange program both at the host university and on return to the University of Sydney. - Students who receive a scholarship or bursary from the International Office or another University of Sydney department exceeding $2000, its sole purpose being to support the exchange, will be requested to return the Bachelor of Liberal Studies (International) Travelling Scholarship immediately. Students are not permitted to receive this travelling scholarship and another scholarship/bursary concurrently.
- Awards are only tenable for the period of exchange study originally applied for in relation to the Travelling Scholarship Application. Students who defer their exchange or withdraw totally from the program will be liable to return some or all of the funding provided. Full details are available from the Faculty of Arts Office.
- Please note: Award recipients who receive Youth Allowance/Austudy/Abstudy, should take note that according to the guidelines currently being applied by Centrelink, the full value of University awards must be included as ‘assessable income’ except for that portion (if any) which is used for purposes of reimbursement of educational expenses (eg: travel costs and tuition fees). In order to claim an exclusion, Centrelink may require students to produce evidence to show that the relevant portion of their award has been applied in accordance with the relevant exclusion. Students should therefore retain all relevant receipts and documentation. Please contact Centrelink on 13 1021 for more information and to seek further advice.
