Summer School and Winter School

The University of Sydney presents a Summer School program each year which runs for seven weeks in January and February and a Winter School program is run for three weeks in July. Both programs offer undergraduate and postgraduate units of study from award courses within the Faculty of Arts.

Visit the Summer School website www.summer.usyd.edu.au for information on units of study, fees and the enrolment process. Applications are accepted online.

Why undertake Summer School or Winter School?

  • Accelerate your program, and complete ahead of time.
  • Get a head start to your degree.
  • Finish your degree to qualify for honours.
  • Repeat units of study in which you may have been unsuccessful.
  • Take a unit that does not fit into your timetable, or is outside your normal program
  • As a way of facilitating the transition to University study for students who have completed the foundation year, or University Preparation Program high school

The Sydney Summer School

Summer School is a lot more fun. You develop really strong friendships in the smaller classes and there is a lot more interaction and sharing of ideas and this really makes it a much more enjoyable process. The intensity of study helps you really understand the information.
