A Major in Anthropology

The Anthropology major requires 36 credit points of Senior Anthropology units. Students are able to choose whether to do a broad-based major in Anthropology or a major in Culture and Development.

The Anthropology major can be comprised of any senior units listed below. These are divided between thematic (eg. development, gender), regional (eg. Aboriginal Australia) and theoretical (eg. culture and the unconscious) units. You may choose any combination.

A stream of units around the theme of culture and development is offered each year including:

ANTH 2627 Medical Anthropology
ANTH 2628 Migration and Migrant Cultures (not offered in 2009)

At least two of these units will be offered each year on a rotating basis.
