This qualification is normally completed in 0.5 years of full time study or up to 2 years part time.

Entry Requirements

 
A recognised Bachelor degree with a major in the relevant field, or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.

Completion Requirements

 
24 credit points (4 units of study) comprising 6 credit points of a core unit, 6 credit points of a required elective and 12 credit points of elective units.
Graduate Certificate students will take at least one core. The core units of study (Art and Curatorship; The Art Museum: Past, Present, Future) are taught in conjunction with staff at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, and introduce students to key historical, theoretical and critical issues germane to art curatorship and the art museum and gallery sector.
All Art Curatorship students must also chose at least one of the two required electives, which focusi on fundamental curatorial issues and skills. Remaining units will be chosen from a pool of available options in art history, film studies and museum studies.
