Digital Cultures Honours Program

Entry Requirements

Completion of 48 senior credit points in the Digital Cultures Program comprising ARIN and cross-listed units of study. The ARIN units must include ARIN2600 Technocultures and ARIN3620 Researching Digital Cultures. An average of credit or above is required for the 48 credit points.

Structure of Digital Cultures Honours Program

The Digital Cultures Honours Program comprises four 12 credit point units of study for a total of 48 credit points to be completed in one year of full time study:

  • ARIN 4011 Digital Cultures Honours A – Semester 1
  • ARIN 4012 Digital Cultures Honours B – Semester 2
  • ARIN 4013 Digital Cultures Honours C – Semester 1
  • ARIN 4014 Digital Cultures Honours D – Semester 2

Two of these units of study will comprise a thesis of 12,000-15,000 words making up 50% of the Honours mark. The fulfilment of the requirements of the other two Honours units of study will be drawn from the Digital Cultures postgraduate units of study offered in the Digital Cultures Program. Digital Cultures Honours students will select TWO of the following units of study with modified assessment requirements comprising 9,000 words or equivalent for each unit.

  • ARIN 6912 Digital Research and Publishing – Semester 1
  • ARIN 6902 Internet Standards and Politics – Semester 1
  • ARIN 6914 Remixable Media – Semester 1
  • ARIN 6901 Network Society – Semester 2
  • ARIN 6903 Computers as Culture – Semester 2

Students may enter the Honours Program in either Semester 1 (your application must be submitted by the end of October) or Semester 2 (your application must be submitted by the end of April).
