My research focuses upon ways in which Shakespeare’s plays make meaning through performance and cultural context. My doctoral thesis examined cultural and imaginative intersections brought to light through performance of Shakespeare’s plays in contemporary Australia. My current project extends this focus to the context of tertiary education; exploring the legacy of Shakespeare as a university subject, the forms of pedagogy applied in teaching Shakespeare, and the theoretical bases that inform them.
