My research interests lie in the field of early modern literature; in particular, theatre and performance culture and representations of childhood in the period. My current project, Reading Children in Early Modern Culture, examines the range of texts produced for and read by children in the late sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. This develops my earlier work on the early modern children's playing companies, Performing Childhood in the Early Modern Theatre.
