How to Apply: International Students
Applications for Semester 1 enrolment generally close at the end of October of the preceding year, but applications after this deadline will be accepted. Applications for Semester 2 enrolment generally close at the end of April. It is strongly recommended that you begin the application process as soon as possible.
Application forms are available from the International office or in the back of the International Prospectus.
Admission procedures
There are two aspects to your application for admission to a postgraduate program in Gender Studies or Cultural Studies. You must approach:
International Office Admission
Check the entry requirements for the course that interests you and obtain the relevant application form from the International Office.
Please note that you must attach original or certified copies of academic transcripts, English language tests results (if required in your case), and any other supporting documents. Please consult the office’s Guide to Completing an Application to ensure that you include all the necessary material.
Consulting the Department
All potential postgraduate students should contact the Postgraduate Co-ordinator.
Research candidates will need to ensure that there is appropriate supervision available and should consult with the department over the 1000 word research proposal required by the application form.
Coursework students should discuss which degree is most appropriate for them with the co-ordinator. This is also an opportunity to discuss what kinds of units might be appropriate, including whether or not dissertation units might be included in your degree (a 500 word proposal will be needed before you enrol in Dissertation Part 1).
