Research degree programs are offered at three levels. From lowest to highest, these are:
Direct admission is possible at any level, provided that the applicable entry requirements are met.

Entry requirements
Candidates must have already attained a Bachelor degree with First or Second Class Div1 Honours or equivalent qualifications in German.
Intake
Applicants are admitted in Semester 1 and Semester 2.
Method of progression
Candidates for the degree have their work prescribed for them on an individual basis, according to their interest and their class of honours at the bachelor's degree and according to whether they are part-time or full-time students. At present all candidates are required to present a thesis on an approved topic and to undertake such coursework or supplementary reading as is assigned in individual cases.
PhD: Full-time 3-4 years, part-time 3-8 years
MPhil: Full-time 1-2 years, part-time 2-4 years
MA (Research): Full-time 1-2 years, part-time 2-4 years
