Entry RequirementsA Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in History with a Distinction average, or equivalent.
Students may apply directly for candidature in the Master of Letters (History).
Students who have already completed the requirements for the Master of Arts (History) and gained an average mark of 75 may apply to transfer to candidature for the Master of Letters (History). They will have completed 6 coursework units of study as a part of the requirements for the Master of Arts (History) as well as 2 units of the dissertation. Those admitted in this way undertake an 4 additional units: 2 elective units of study and 2 units of MLitt Treatise (10,000 words).

Completion Requirements12 units of study (totalling 72 credit points) comprising 1 core unit, a 4 unit supervised treatise of 20,000 words (worth 24 credit points), plus 7 electives from the History postgraduate course offerings.
