History Department Response to Student Feedback
HSTY1045 - Modern European History (2002)

Unit Coordinator: Dr Dirk Moses

There was a lively response by the HSTY 1045 students in 2002. Many found the lectures and reading stimulating and challenging, others felt they were too difficult.

No consistent pattern of suggestions was discernible except regarding a survey textbook. Many students wrote that a textbook (in addition to the thematic Gendering European History) of the narrative/survey would be useful.

Consequently, I have set John Merriman, A History of Modern Europe, Vol II as an accompaniment to the lectures. I am looking forward to the student feedback on that text this year.
