Diana Bryant gained a BA in 1964 and a Diploma in Librarianship the following year. Inspired by several visits to Italy, she returned to Sydney University in 1996, embarking on a Diploma of Arts in Italian Studies, graduating with Hons Class I in 2002. She is at present working towards a PhD on the life and letters of Eleonora d’Aragona (1450-1493) daughter of Ferrante I of Naples and wife of Ercole I d’Este, Duke of Ferrara, with a particular emphasis on her continuing relationship with the court of Naples
