Dott. Gloria De Vincenti
BA Hons, Bari
PhD candidate
Gloria De Vincenti studied foreign languages and literature at the University of Bari, Italy, majoring in French. During that period she developed an interest in Surrealism and its precursors such as the poet Gérard de Nerval. She continues to explore the avant-garde scene of the early twentieth century in her current doctoral thesis on the movement called Second Florentine Futurism (1916-1918). Gloria's thesis explores the genesis and function of the creative process, through the literary work of a group of young poets and artists. In adhering to the multidisciplinary approach of the movement, her investigation draws on a range of fields, most importantly philosophy, anthroposophy and psychoanalysis.
Her other research interests include second and foreign language teaching methods and theories. Gloria is an associate lecturer in the Institute for International Studies at UTS, and a member of the 'Multilingualism and Multiliteracies' Research Cluster at UTS.
