KSAA 2009 Conference GUIDELINES FOR FULL PAPER SUBMISSION

(These guidelines are available in a downloadable document here. A sample of a document with the correct layout is available here.)


In order to help us format the conference proceedings, please follow the guidelines provided here. If your paper does not comply with the guidelines, the Conference Organiser may refuse to accept your paper. Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated.

Due date for full papers
30 April, 2009

File format
Microsoft Word

Page setup
Paper size: A4 . Use default settings for all other page set-up.

Font type, font size and spacing
Papers should be written in Times New Roman 12 point (except the title of paper, cited texts, and footnotes), using single spacing.

Text flow
Page breaks: use Microsoft Word's automatic page breaking. Do not insert manual page breaks, unless you have a table or diagram which must not be broken into two pieces.
Widow/orphan control: please use: activate by choosing Format: Paragraph: Line Page Breaks; tick ‘Widow/Orphan control’.

Contents of paper
Each paper should contain details of the title, author(s), the affiliated institution(s), an abstract, the body text including references and contact address.

Length of paper
The whole paper should be 8-12 pages.

Layout of Paper

 

Your paper should be structured according to the guidelines and in the order described below

Refereeing
If you wish your full paper to be refereed anonymously to be published as a refereed conference paper, please indicate above the title:

"I request that my paper be refereed anonymously."

After your paper is passed by the anonymous refereeing process, you may revise your paper according to reviewers’ comments.

Title
Font: Palatino Linotype, 14 point, bold, centre aligned.
Line Spacing: Leave 2 blank lines after the title.

Author(s)
Font: Times New Roman, 12 point, centre aligned.
Order: given name(s) then surname.

Affiliation(s)
Font: Times New Roman, 12 point, centre aligned.
Line Spacing: Place author’s affiliated institution directly below the author’s name (no blank line). For multiple authors, leave 1 blank line between entries.

Abstract
Heading: ‘Abstract’
Heading font: Times New Roman, 12 point, bold, left justified.
Paragraph font: Times New Roman, 12 point, italics, left justified.
Line Spacing: 2 blank lines before the heading. No blank lines between heading and text.
Length: 150-200 words.

Section Headings
Font: Times New Roman, 12 point, bold, left justified.
Numbering of section headings: use Arabic numerals starting with ‘1’. Sub-section headings may be used eg 1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1 etc.
Line Spacing: leave 1 blank line above each section heading. Do not leave a blank line after a section heading and the following sub-section heading and/or text.

Main text
Spacing: Do not leave blank lines between paragraphs. Leave only one space between sentences.
Indents: first paragraph in section – no first-line indent. Subsequent paragraphs in section: first-line indent of 1.2 cm. At the end of the main text, leave 2 blank lines before the heading ‘References’.

Cited texts
Font: Times New Roman, 10 point, left justified.
Spacing: leave one blank line before and after the citation
Indent: 1.2 cm.

Footnotes
Use footnotes (ie notes at the bottom of each page), not endnotes (ie notes at the end of a paper), starting with reference number 1, and both in the text as well as in the footnote itself, the reference numbers should be superscript 10 point.

Romanisation
For Korean words, use the McCune-Reischauer Romanisation System. Do not use han’gǔl, Chinese characters and other romanisation systems, unless you have permission from us. Contact the Conference Secretary if you want to use other than the McCune-Reischauer Romanisation System for Korean words in your paper.

References
Heading: ‘References’
Heading font: Times New Roman, 12 point, left justified, bold.
Referencing System: use the Chicago Author-Date referencing system for references and text citations. Visit the following site for the Chicago Author-Date referencing system:

Spacing: Each entry of your references should be a hanging paragraph, with 1.2 cm indent from second line.
