NEW! Choonpa Korean Language Prize

Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Chair of Department of Korean Studies to the most proficient students in Korean Language units. Two prizes will be awarded: one prize to the best achiever in junior Korean language units; the other to the best achiever in senior Korean language units. Recipients are required to be enrolled in further Korean studies except if in their final year.

Established in 2008 in memory of the late Mr Bae Keun Lee, ex-President of the Korean Society of Sydney, who passed away in 2007. Celebrating the establishment of the prize, the donor, Choonpa Korean Language Scholarship Incorporated, will provide $2000 for the first year 2009, and subsequently $1000 per year.

Korean Consulate Award (Undergraduate)

Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Languages and Cultures on the advice of the Chair of Korean Studies to the student who does the best work in Korean Studies (1) and Korean Language (1) taught within the Korean Studies curriculum, provided that the student’s work is of sufficient merit.

This award was established in 2004 by a donation by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, Sydney.

University of Sydney Honours Scholarships
Each year the University of Sydney offers a number of Honours Scholarships, each worth $6000. These scholarships are available to students enrolled in degrees that require an extra year of study for the award of honours. All local students are eligible, including those students who completed their undergraduate degree at a university other than Sydney.
