This qualification is normally completed in 1.5 - 3 years of full time study or 3 - 6 years part time.

A Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Linguistics at distinction level, or equivalent qualification.

12 units of study (totalling 72 credit points) comprising 4 core units: LNGS7001 Language Analysis, LNGS7002 Language Society and Power; LNGS7272 Additional Language Learning, and LNGS7273 Additional Language Teaching; a 2 unit MLitt treatise (worth 24 points); plus 4 electives.

Classes are predominantly scheduled in the evenings to accommodate those students with daytime commitments.

Candidates intending to use the Masters degree as a qualification for entry to an M.Phil or Ph.D should consult the Program Coordinator regarding their proposed course of study prior to enrolment.
