Erin joined the Department of Media and Communications in 2008 as a casual lecturer and tutor in both postgraduate and undergraduate courses. She studied gender studies at the University of Utah and wrote her undergraduate thesis in the mother daughter relationship and the passing down of feminist values through maternal lines. After a long (relatively!) career in health care in the United States, Erin decided to travel to Australia and study public relations at the University of Sydney. After completing her Masters, Erin moved on to begin her PhD researching the relationship between Political Action Committee, female candidates and the public sphere. Erin is very excited to spend time getting to know her students and share her passion for teaching and learning with them. When she is not on campus, Erin can be found hiking the trails on the Northern Beaches, reading gossip magazines (it is my guilty pleasure), cooking dinner for friends, planning the next vacation, or honing her skills in Ebonics.
