Marc joined the University of Sydney in 2004 and currently teaches in the undergraduate program. He has previously taught at Universities in Perth and Brisbane as well as having worked as a financial advisor, debt collector, truck driver, music journalist, public relations officer, bar manager, cleaner and kitchen hand. His has published work on UK music journalism, popular music, advertising, the ‘street press’ in Australia, and research methods. He is the coordinator of department’s Honours program.

Marc is currently researching the function of the expert in discussions of popular culture. He aims to examine what roles are played by the media, the academy and by new media platforms in constructing critical discourse around cultural content and forms.
