David Juste joined the CMS in March 2006 as a University of Sydney
Sesqui Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2006-2009). He holds a B.A.
in History (Brussels, 1993), an M.A. in History of Science (Harvard,
1996) and a Ph.D. in History (Brussels, 2000), and was previously
a Frances A. Yates Fellow of the Warburg Institute in London (2000-2003),
a Fellow of the Institut Historique Belge de Rome (2003), and an
Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at the Lehrstuhl für Geschichte
der Naturwissenschaften in Munich (2004-2005).

Research area
Medieval (Latin) astrology and, more generally, all aspects of
medieval and early modern culture, science, and magic, including
manuscript studies.
Current projects
The Uses of Astrology, A.D. 1200-1700. A study of the
uses of astrology in the various sectors of medieval and early
modern society and
culture, in particular in literature, art, politics, medicine,
science, philosophy, and theology.
Catalogus Codicum Astrologorum Latinorum. Catalogue of
Latin astrological manuscripts. Two volumes are about to be completed,
on the manuscripts
respectively of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek in Munich and of
the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris.
(With Nadja Germann, Barbara Obrist, and Peter Verbist) Critical
edition of the scientific works of Abbo of Fleury (c. 945-1004).
