This qualification is normally completed in 1 year of full time study or up to 3 years part time.

Entry Requirements

 
A Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in a relevant field in the humanities or social sciences or equivalent.

Completion Requirements

 
6 units of study (totalling 36 credit points) comprising 1 core unit (MUSM 7033 The Museum Context), a compulsory 2 unit museum internship placement (MUSM 7004 Internship/Placement 1 and MUSM 7005 Internship/Practicum 2), plus 3 electives.

Attendance Pattern

 
Most units of study require attendance of 2 hrs per unit/per week. Classes are predominantly scheduled in the evenings to accommodate those students with daytime commitments.
Some units of study are offered intensively and require attendance for 1 full day per week (usually a Friday) for 5 weeks during semester.

Further Study

 
Candidates in the Graduate Diploma program may choose to transfer to the Masters program with full credit once they have passed the required units.
