Janet Carding

 

Janet Carding has been Assistant Director, Public Programs & Operations at the Australian Museum, Sydney since 2004. She is a historian of science and medicine who has worked as a museum professional for over 20 years. Prior to the Australian Museum, Janet worked at the Science Museum in London from 1987 to 2004 in a variety of curatorial and exhibition development roles and played a leading role in the development of the Wellcome Wing, the extension to the Science Museum completed in 2000. Janet subsequently coordinated a major review of the National Museum of Science and Industry (NMSI) (of which the Science Museum is a part) that resulted in a new strategic direction and organisational changes. From 2001 to 2004, Janet held the post of Head of Planning and Development and led the strategic planning, major projects and forward program for the NMSI museums as a member of the Executive team.
