Departmental Seminars

 

The Department hosts a weekly research seminar series. Seminars are advertised regularly by email on the SydPhil mailing list, which also provides details of many other philosophy-related events in the Sydney region. 2008 Series – Which Philosophy of Religion?

The Philosophy of Religion Research Seminar is a series of monthly presentation of research papers by outstanding scholars. As part of the theme 'The Relation of Philosophy to Religion Today' the seminar explores religion in its relation to society, ethics, culture and politics in the contemporary world. The format is a forty-five minutes talk followed by a short response and discussion.

The seminar is held 4:30 – 6:00 on the last Friday of each month (except where noted). The series is open to all: Honours and Postgraduate students in philosophy and outside of philosophy as well as interested postgraduates from the other universities in the Sydney region are welcome to attend. Postgraduate students are encouraged to contribute a response.
