Postgraduate Study
Whether or not you have already completed some studies in Philosophy in your undergraduate degree, you can apply to undertake postgraduate study in the Department of Philosophy. From a Diploma of Arts to a Doctor of Philosophy, there's a degree program to suit everyone.
The Department's research expertise lies in the history of philosophy, pragmatism and naturalism, logic, epistemology and metaphysics, philosophy of physical sciences, philosophy of mind and moral, social and political philosophy. The general requirement for entry into a research program is a good Honours result in Philosophy. For entry into coursework masters programs, a major in Philosophy is required. If you've already completed a degree without studying Philosophy, you can enroll in a Diploma of Arts majoring in philosophy. Students may then continue on to Honours, providing a pathway to Research Postgraduate degrees.
