Undergraduate prizes and scholarships
These prizes and scholarships are awarded by the Department of Philosophy on the basis of academic merit. Some scholarships may be subject to special conditions.

Lithgow Scholarship No III for Philosophy I
Cash Award: $650.00
Awarded annually to the student who showed greatest proficiency in Junior units of philosophy. The scholar is required to remain enrolled in Senior units of Philosophy at level II during the one-year tenure of the scholarship.

G S Caird Scholarship for Philosophy II
Cash Award: $1500.00
Awarded annually to the student who shows greatest proficiency in at least 16 senior units of Philosophy at 2000 level. The scholar is required to remain enrolled in at least 16 Senior units of Philosophy during the tenure of the scholarship.

Lithgow Scholarship No IV for Philosophy III
Cash Award: $750.00
Awarded annually to the student who showed greatest proficiency in the Senior Philosophy courses which are a qualification to enter Philosophy IV Honours in the following year. The scholar is required to remain enrolled in Philosophy IV Honours during the tenure of the scholarship.

Francis E. Snare Memorial Prize
Cash Award: $500.00
Awarded annually to the student enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year Philosophy showing greatest proficiency in Moral and Political Philosophy, provided that the work is of sufficient merit.

John Anderson Prize for Best Thesis in Philosophy IV
Cash Award: $150.00
Awarded annually to a student pursuing an undergraduate course in Philosophy, for the best Honours thesis submitted by a Philosophy IV student, provided the thesis is of sufficient merit.
