Australian
Celtic Journal
The Celtic Council of Australia was formed in
1982 from representatives of the Scots, Irish,
Welsh and Cornish societies in Sydney.
Since then the Manx have joined and only the
Bretons remain unrepresented. The Celtic
Council have contributed to such important
cultural activities as the erection of the
Australian Standing Stones at Glen Innes and the
inauguration of the Australian tartan. The
Australian Celtic Journal was established in
1988 by the Celtic Council of Australia and the
University of Sydney's Celtic Studies
Foundation. The aim of the Journal was to
provide a forum for Australian Celticists, both
academics and community members. Since 1988 six
issues have appeared, with a seventh expected
early in 2002. Back issues are available
at a cost of $10.00 each (plus postage), and an
annual subscription costs $25 (plus postage).
