Renowned photographer, Jorge Deustua, is visiting Sydney for his exhibition In Search of the Hero, a collection of black and white photographs that were taken over the last 32 years. A selection of Deustua’s work, which features predominantly scenes of Peru and its people, will be exhibited during the month of October at the Instituto Cervantes.

SURCLA invites students, staff and the general public to meet this Peruvian photographer and educator who is one of the most influential and successful of his generation. As the title suggests, Deustua’s talk, De amor y muerte: Reflexiones Sobre la Fotografia de Guerra will be in Spanish, but will be followed by a Q & A session in English and Spanish.

Year: 2006
Country: Argentina
Duration: 90min

For the first time in history, an Argentinean team is participating in the World Football Championships for homeless people. This is a chance to escape the daily grind of living on the street in Buenos Aires. They train hard to get on the team, dream about a better life and hope for an experience that will change everything. However getting to the World Cup takes more than just practice, they also need money and a passport to Sweden.

The Other Cup is a captivating portrait of people who have found themselves living on the street and who suddenly regain hope for a better future.
