María del Carmen Montesdeoca is a graduate of the Catholic University of Guayaquil in Ecuador where she graduated in Educational Sciences (Spanish Language and Literature), with a thesis on Theatre in Education. Following this, she won a British Council Scholarship to study theatre directing at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in England. Once she graduated from Bristol, María del Carmen went on to complete an MA in Theatre Directing from the University of Western Sydney.
She has taught Spanish in a wide range of environments, as well as working in the theatre. She has also worked as a translator and editor. Most recently, María del Carmen has taught Spanish literature, conversation and cinema at the Centre for Continuing Education as well as tutoring in the Spanish Program at the University of Sydney.
María del Carmen has also lived in many countries, including Ecuador, USA, England, Ireland and now, Australia.
