Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Social Work
To qualify for this combined degree a student must complete 240 credit points. These 240 credit points must include:
- 96 credit points from the 3rd and 4th years of the Bachelor of Social Work;
- 48 Junior credit points in Arts from Part A of the Units of Study table, including 12 credit points of Sociology;
- 12 credit points of senior units of study of Sociology including SCLG 2521 Social Inquiry: Research Methods in Society;
- A minimum of 66 senior credit points from units of study in Part A of the table of units of study for the BA, including a major;
- a Part A Arts major (36 senior credit points) with at least 18 Senior credit points in the subject area of the major (i.e. not cross-listed from other subject areas);
- 12 intermediate or senior credit points of Psychology or Psychology for Social Work;
- 6 senior credit points of Indigenous Australian Studies.

Career Opportunities
Graduates have a wide range of opportunities in such fields as housing, health, social security, aged care, family welfare, programs for people with disabilities and services for migrant communities. As a graduate, you can find employment in a variety of settings in the public, private and community sector, including local, state and federal government departments and agencies, public hospitals, community health and welfare organisations, community-based neighbourhood and resource centres, advocacy and self-help groups, and welfare rights organisations.
You may choose to deliver a direct service through individual and family casework, or be employed to assist community groups to plan and develop their own services. You could also be involved in research, policy development and welfare administration.
