Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Arts

The Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Arts combined degree program can be taken with any of the eight Bachelor of Engineering degrees offered. Studies for both degrees are fully integrated (i.e. in each year you will study engineering as well as arts and both degrees will be awarded after five years of full-time study.)

To complete the combined degree, a total of 240 credit points must be completed. These will include:

  • Prescribed units of study for the Engineering stream being undertaken (see the Engineering Handbook for more information);
  • 84 credit points in units of study from the Faculty of Arts, with at least 54 of these being Senior credit points from Part A of the Arts table of units of study;
  • 162 credit points in units of study offered by the Faculty of Engineering, including at least one major (see the Engineering Handbook);
  • One major (36 Senior credit points) from Part A of the Faculty of Arts table of units of study (see the Arts Handbook).

Professional Recognition
The B Engineering component in a combined program is the scientific, technical and management core of the 4-year B Engineering degree. The combined degree programs have been submitted to the Institution of Engineers, Australia for accreditation.
