Oceania Monographs are single-author studies or collections of papers on a topic. Most Monographs are in socio-cultural anthropology, but the editors will consider proposals in any cognate field, such as archaeology, ethnomusicology or ethnography.
Oceania Monographs
range in size from 40,000 to 200,000 words, and the usual first print run is 200 copies. Authors or editors should initially approach Neil Maclean [send email] or Peter White [send email] with an outline of the proposed volume, on which expert opinions as to its scholarly worth and interest will be sought. Once a proposal is accepted, the completed volume will be refereed and authors will be expected to make appropriate revisions. The final version is expected to be in the form of camera-ready copy, in the current Oceania Monographs format.
