The School of Languages and Cultures in the Faculty of Arts is very proud of the academics who teach on our programs. They provide the excellence and diversity that is a distinctive feature of the language and culture programs offered at the University of Sydney. In addition to a strong focus on languages, teaching and research areas include linguistics, literature, philosophy, Buddhism, popular culture, intercultural communication, modern and ancient history, migration, political economy, sociology to name just some. We also engage in cross-disciplinary areas such as comparative regional studies (Asian Studies and European and Middle Eastern Studies) and international and comparative literature.
