Student policies
This page will provide you with important policy information for your studies. Please refer to the relevant department for more specific information regarding their requirements.
Information about enrolment in the Faculty of Arts, admission dates, mid-year intake and other important details can be found at the Faculty of Arts.
The Faculty of Arts is also the first point of contact for:
Cross-institutional study
- If you a current student and you are interested in language study options at other local universities which can count towards your major, you can find more information here.
If you are a student at another institute wishing to study with us, you can find more information here.
Variations to enrolment
"How to and forms" provides current students with important information and access to forms; for instance when you need to vary your enrolment, waive entry requirements for units of study or apply for credit etc.
Assessment cover sheet
All assessments handed into departments, located in our School, must have a cover sheet attached to the front.
The cover sheet includes a plagiarism declaration that declares the work being submitted is the student's own work. This must be signed before submission of the assessment. Please note that any assessment that does not have a coversheet or has a coversheet that has not been signed by the student may not be marked.

Submission of assessments
The School office is located in Room 506 of the Brennan MacCallum Building (located opposite Manning House). The School counter is open from 10am to 4pm. Access to the building after 5pm is only available via the Quadrangle building.
Assessments must be placed into the wall slot just around the corner from the School counter. Each assessment is date stamped before being forwarded to the marker. The School does not provide submission receipts - it is highly recommended that you keep a copy of your assessment as proof of completion.
If you wish to apply for special consideration, you must make sure that they have read the policy before submitting your application. Submitting an application does not automatically mean that special consideration will be granted. The policy and and application form are available from the Faculty of Arts.
All students need to make themselves aware of academic policies and procedures. Each department will provide you with important information. However, the University also publishes important policies online including policies concerning academic honesty, plagiarism and appeals.
