Welcome to the The School of Philosophical and Historical Inquiry (SOPHI)! We are home to a number of the major departments within the Faculty of Arts, and the School is made up of the Departments of Anthropology, Archaeology, Classics and Ancient History, Gender and Cultural Studies, History, Philosophy and Sociology and Social Policy, as well as the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies and the Centre for Time.

The School brings together an exciting group of teachers, researchers and students across the breadth of the humanities, engaging in cutting-edge research and energetic and innovative teaching.
