All tutors in the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Education and Social Work are invited to register for our Tutors' Development Program. Tutors who are new to tertiary teaching are particularly welcome, but more experienced tutors are also warmly encouraged to join in.
There are plenty of reasons to register for this program! Firstly, both the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Education and Social Work values the professional development of all academic staff. Your participation will be recognised with a certificate that you can add to your CV.
Another reason to participate is that the program will inform, encourage and support you in your work. It provides a forum in which you can deepen your understanding of what is involved in high quality teaching and student learning; it encourages discussion and reflection regarding how this understanding can be applied in your own teaching context. You will be able to listen to the experiences of other academic staff and to voice any concerns or questions about tutoring that you may have. One of our key aims is to better connect and integrate tutors within the academic and social cultures of our two Faculties.
Finally, and most importantly, the program will better equip tutors to meet the needs of students, and will improve our students' learning experiences and outcomes.
Places are limited and we expect the program to fill quickly. Please click on the 'Session Details' link for further information regarding dates, venues and session content. If you would like to be involved in this program this semester, please complete the online registration form.
We look forward to seeing many of you at our first session!
