Plenary Session content
In the plenary sessions a wide range of topics will be considered; from the research on effective teaching and learning principles to highly practical matters such as managing classroom dynamics. The general themes of the four plenary sessions are:
- What do I do in the first tutorial?
- How do I teach so my students will actually learn?
- How do I promote academic honesty and deal with plagiarism?
- How am I going? : Strategies for evaluating and reflecting on my teaching.
Tutors must complete all four sessions in order to complete the program. However it is possible to complete one, two or three sessions this semester, and finish up by participating in the missed session(s) next semester. If you participated in the program in a previous semester but were unable to attend one of the sessions, you are very welcome to come along this semester to make up for the session you missed – please just make sure to register again. If you have any further questions, please contact us by email at
If you would like to register for this program, please complete our online registration form. Remember, places are limited and expected to fill quickly!
Please note: the deadline to register is Wednesday 22 July 2009.
